Musician vs. Professor

Hee heee heeeeeeeee!!! So, I just got this email from the Linguistics department on campus that made me snort. Aloud. Get this:

Dear Graduate students:

On Monday, January 30 and Tuesday January 31, we will be hosting Dr. David Bowie from the University of Alaska. Part of that includes hosting him for lunch and dinner. We would like to give you an opportunity to meet with him for lunch if you would like. If you are interested, you would be meeting to go to lunch with him at 12:30 on Tuesday, January 31. If you are interested in going to lunch with him, please email Dr. Smemoe . We are hoping to have 6-8 people come to lunch with him. (The department will pay for your lunch.)

If you have a research idea or project you are currently working on, and want to meet with Dr. Bowie, let me know and I will put you on his schedule. He will be using the back office in the department main office (4064 JFSB). Right now he has ½ hour appointment openings at 10:30 , 11:00 and 11:30 on Monday. We can also make appointments for Tuesday morning if you’d like.

Thank you.

Can you imagine this as a professor?
Ya. I laughed too.
A lot.
PS. For clarity: no, its not actually the same guy.

    1. Yup. It's said, "Smee-moi"...funky stuff. Especially for a Linguistics professor.

  2. Sometimes I think all Nate does everyday at work is read emails and laugh and forward them around :).
